Opened in 1951, this brilliant miniature railway line is half a mile long and perfect for kids, as well as train enthusiasts. With fares at just £1, and kids under two travelling free, it’s also a budget friendly day out.
The Triangle leisure centre can be found in nearby Burgess Hill and boasts a water experience children will love. With slides, indoor and outdoor rapids, cascade falls, toddler beach and an interactive shipwreck, there is plenty to keep kids of all ages entertained.
There is a lot to do in Victoria Park as a family. The park’s splash pad water play is great fun, with buttons to squirt water and barriers to hold it back. There is also a playground, tennis courts and football pitches at the park, along with a café for when parents need a caffeine boost!

For a movie night with friends, visit the independent Orion cinema in Burgess Hill. Tickets are reasonably priced and the venue airs many of the latest films.
Located less than half an hour from Haywards Heath, Plumpton Racecourse is a great choice for a day out with friends. With regular fixtures and various events hosted throughout the year, there is bound to be something to keep you entertained.
