Uckfield has a large leisure centre, a historic picture house (which celebrated 100 years in 2016) and plenty of pubs and restaurants to eat in. At the southern end of the High Street is the train station, providing a commuter service to London in approximately one hour twenty. The historic county town of Lewes is a short drive in a south westerly direction with a larger range of boutique shops and a station. To the north and past Uckfield, the A26 takes you to Royal Tunbridge Wells.
