Hello from all the team at Move Revolution

The health and wellbeing of our clients, team members, family and friends is of the upmost importance to us.  In light of the Governments announcement, we have taken time to update our policies and procedures for valuations, viewings and property maintenance. We want to reassure you about all the extra measures we are taking right now. We have also included a link to the Governments guidance for you to access

Sales & Lettings Property Valuation with Move Revolution

Our excellent reputation is built on outstanding customer service, with over 900+ five star reviews.  We believe in the importance of building a rapport with our clients and being with you every step of the way with your next move or letting your property. We have created a new valuation procedure to ensure we can support you with all our expertise.

You will be initially be asked by our team…

  1. Are you in the ‘at risk’ category specified by the government and currently shielding?
  2. Are you, or anyone in your household showing COVID-19 symptoms and currently self isolating?
  3. Have you or anyone in your household previously tested positive and have since recovered?

If you answer yes to questions 1 and 2 we will suggest a video valuation appointment for the time being, following the governments advice.

If No, then we’d love to come and see you but we’ve made a few changes…

  1. Video call.  We would recommend a video call with our knowledgeable team. The perfect time for you to showcase and talk about your home, taking our team on a ‘guided tour’, showing us all the things you love about where you live. This will enable our team to find out more about your property and for you to get an opportunity to meet one of our expert team.  If we are able to offer a valuation at the property we will use the following procedure.
  2. Seeing your property.  Our agent will make an appointment to visit your property following the initial video call.  We ask that only 1 or 2 adults living in the same household are present (at this current time we would ask that children are not present during valuations, and hoping they can be out on a bike ride, in a pram or on a walk!)
  3. You will be asked if you would like a ‘garden appointment’, in which our team will take time to look around the outside of your property (socially distancing at all times). If you could prepare your home for us to look at unaccompanied it would be most helpful for us to get a ‘feel’ for your home.
  4. If a ‘garden appointment’ isn’t possible you will have the option of us coming into your home.  Our teams will have used hand sanitiser prior to entering and will be socially distancing at all times.  You and our agent will be wearing a face covering (face mask if available) and or gloves too, if required. We will discuss what’s comfortable prior to your appointment.
  5. If you would like to go ahead and place your property on the market with Move Revolution we will email you al the documentation and information we discuss along with terms of business for you to ‘virtually’ read and sign.
Viewing a property with Move Revolution

We know how exciting it can be to view a property, one that could be your new home. When you are booking an appointment to view a property we will be checking the following with you.

  1. Are you in the ‘at risk’ category specified by the government and currently shielding?
  2. Are you, or anyone in your household showing COVID-19 symptoms and currently self isolating
  3. Have you or anyone in your household previously tested positive and have since recovered?

If you answer YES to questions 1 or 2 we would suggest showing you the property ‘virtually’, and our expert team will take time via phone or video call to answer all your questions in detail.

If you answer NO to the questions and you can imagine yourself living in one of our beautiful properties; we would then encourage you to view the property.

Viewing at the property.

  1. Viewings can be undertaken by 1 or 2 adults living in the same household (at this current time children will not be permitted to attend a Move Revolution property viewing).
  2. When you arrive at the property please be mindful of socially distancing as soon as you leave your car.  You will be greeted by one of our team who will wave hello to you and greet you with a big smile.
  3. Our agent will have carefully sanitised their hands on arrival at the property and greet you outside the property following social distancing measures. Please confirm to our team member that you will be bringing your own face covering (face mask if available and hand sanitiser to use before entering the property
  4. Whilst viewing the property we ask that you don’t open or touch and cupboards and doors etc. If there is something you’d like to see, let our agents know and we will happily access any part of the property for you.
  5. After your viewing we hope that we can chat over any questions you may have in the garden or in some outside space, however if the weather doesn’t permit we will video call you shortly afterwards.
As usual we are all available from 8am – 8pm seven days a week, and we look forward to speaking with you.  As an independent business we will continue to be the best at what we do, as our Mission Statement states -“To supply outstanding service through dedication and knowledge.  To grown our business through excellence and integrity”

Thank you for taking time to support and aid us in keeping you and all our customers moving safely, with these new measures and guidelines.

Detailed government advice

Please refer to the following information for full details provided by the government.

https://www.gov.uk/guidance/government-advice-on-home-moving-during-the-coronavirus-covid-19-outbreak

This is specific information from the website for those who are vulnerable or shielding and self isolating

Vulnerable people or those shielding

We recognise people who are shielding or otherwise vulnerable may also have pressing needs to move home; however, this should be balanced with the increased risks presented by coronavirus.

In line with government’s advice, those who are shielding or otherwise clinically vulnerable should ensure they are aware of the medical advice, including on staying at home and avoiding unnecessary contacts over this period, if at all possible. All parties involved in home buying and selling should prioritise agreeing amicable arrangements to change move dates for individuals in this group, or where someone in a chain is in this group.

Clinically vulnerable and shielded individuals (ie those who have received a letter advising they are in the clinically extremely vulnerable group) will need to carefully consider their personal situation and the circumstances of their own move and may wish to seek medical advice before deciding whether to commit to or go ahead with a move. Some moves are likely to be lower risk – for instance if the home is empty, all travel can take place in their own transport and they can avoid contact with others.

We would encourage everyone in these categories who does intend to move, to make clear their status to all of the professionals involved in the process. They may be able to implement additional precautionary measures to further protect you.

People self-isolating or having tested positive for coronavirus

Moving home is not appropriate whilst you pose a direct risk of transmitting coronavirus. People who have coronavirus or are self-isolating with their family member should not leave their home to either move home, or undertake property viewings.

If you are contractually committed to move home, you should delay your move until all members of your household have come to the end of their self-isolation period. All parties involved in home buying and selling should prioritise agreeing amicable arrangements to change move dates for individuals, or where someone in a chain or their family member is self-isolating or has tested positive for coronavirus.

Should a move be essential for people in this category, for instance due to an urgent health and safety risk, please contact Public Health England/local public health teams for advice.

What does this mean for my property move or purchase which is scheduled whilst measures to fight coronavirus apply?

People are free to move home, however the process of finding and moving into a new home is likely to be different, as those involved in the process will need to adapt practices and procedures to ensure that the risk of spread of coronavirus is reduced as far as possible. It is vital that everyone stays alert and safe.

  • Initial viewings should be done virtually wherever this is possible and property agents should help you to do this.
  • All physical viewings should be limited to members of the same household and open house viewings should not take place.
  • When physically viewing properties, where possible, you should avoid touching surfaces, wash your hands regularly, and bring your own hand sanitiser. The number of people on a viewing should be minimised to those from your household that absolutely have to be there. If you need to be accompanied by small children, you should try to keep them from touching surfaces and ensure they wash their hands regularly.
  • If people are being shown around your current home, you should open all internal doors and ensure surfaces, such as door handles, are cleaned after each viewing with standard household cleaning products.
  • As most people choose to, we recommend that you vacate your property whilst viewings are taking place in order to minimise your contact with those not in your household.
  • If you are particularly worried about the risk of infection, then speak to the professionals involved, your landlord, estate agent or removers as they may be able to put in place extra measures.

Everyone involved in the moving process must follow social distancing to minimise the spread of the virus.
