A Day Out In Brighton

The vibrant and quirky seaside city of Brighton and Hove is famous for its mix of Georgian, Victorian, Edwardian and Art Deco architecture, from the Prince Regent’s Royal Pavilion to the beautiful garden squares. The pebbly beaches, a honey pot of shopping facilities, from Churchill Square shopping centre offering fantastic mainstream shops, whilst the North and South Laines are full of quirky boutiques and luxury stores. A vast choice of restaurants, cafe’s, bar and pubs, boasting lively nightlife and entertainment. Brighton is renowned for its diverse communities and rich arts culture. It is celebrated for its large LGBT population and often nicknamed the ‘Gay Capital of the UK’, once a year they hold a colourful and exciting Gay Pride weekend full of flamboyant costumes, street parties, parades and music acts. Hove on the other hand is a little more relaxed, with its slower pace- sophisticated wine bars and eateries. Hove Lawns is a lovely spot during the summer months where people gather for picnics, outdoor games and sunbathing.

Whether you are looking for the historical hot spots, cool places to eat and drink or entertainment. Below is a small snapshot guide of some recommended must do’s to check out.

Start The Day With Breakfast

What better way to start your day then having a fresh cup of coffee and a batch of fluffy pancakes overlooking Hove beach? Rockwater sits right on the promenade shoulder to shoulder with the beach huts. Choose from a decked setting on the pebbles where you can smell the sea air, their bar and kitchen on the ground floor, a comfy arm chair in the lodge or on the roof terrace to enjoy the views.

Refreshments In The Sky

Take a stroll along the beach front until you reach the famous burnt down West Pier and jump on a ride on the British Airways i360. The 162 meter observation tower with a fully enclosed viewing pod, allows visitors to experience a 360 degree view of the English Channel and across the city, whilst sipping on a refreshing glass of wine…

Take in Brighton’s Regency History

Take a visit to The Prince Regent’s Royal Pavilion and museums built in 1787. Immerse yourself in the history whilst viewing the beautiful and colourful interiors with Chinese and Indian influence. Wander the lovely gardens or perhaps you fancy getting your skates on at the ice rink during the winter months!

Spooky Walks By Night

The Laines are one of Brighton’s most celebrated areas. Whilst these are great to visit during the day, we would also recommend ioining Ghost Walk of The Laines. Guided by a story teller and his fellow ghost walkers, visiting eight haunted sites which were once part of the original town of Brighthelmstone. Hear about the eerie tales whilst on the 70 minute walking tour.
